Stray Dogs in Turkey

Cold and rainy day - all the dogs indoors today!!!  No one wanted to step a paw outside!!!  Of course they are all rather spoilt living here as it rarely rains for more than 2 days in a row - but went it rains - boy  it rains.

A few of the Daschounds braved the weather and began to run around the garden - and of course the rest joined in the fun.  Amusing to watch but imagine 280 muddy paws to clean afterwards.  Really cant wait to move

When you watch them playing so happily its hard to imagine that they were previously abandoned unhappy strays - they are so happy and bond together so well.  Big or small - they seem to understand each other and interact so well.  There is surely a lesson here for us humans.

I fed them early this morning before it began to rain again - it was the right move as before they had finished the heavens opened and we were awash again.

This weather is a challenge as it difficult to keep them amused - they are like chidren and get bored easily and start looking for mischief.  And of course soon is started.  The ringleaders normally are Boxer or Chico.  Today Chico took the lead by pinching the kitchen roll and trailing it round the garden - of course soon the rest joined in.  And that was the end of the paper!!
